"Have you felt so lost that it feels as if you're in a box with no doors or no windows in, just a little box. Or you're trapped under a bit of a ice in a lake or pond and trying to find a little hole in which you can just pop your head up and breath. The struggle of not being heard?
When you try to reach out in hope that someone will reach back and pull you away from this place you stranded in and can't seem to get out.
Have you ever been left alone with strangers who call themselves doctors or nurses and mistreat you, talk to you as if you're some sort of child with special needs?
I have the words here in my mind but when I go to say it, they come out in such a different way.
I find it hard to sleep at night. Imagine sleeping in a cold, dark room. Doctors and nurses come in whenever they want and belittle you. Take advantage of you. Give you false hope.
I just want to be free
All I want to do is play.
Is this too much to ask for? "
The whole purpose of this monologue is basically to tell the audience how Megs character is feeling and what her thoughts are about in the mental institute. The reason why I'm saying this is because I'm representing her thoughts and Meg is going the movement to show the audience how she is feeling.
