9/11 - Research

On the 11th of September 2001, The world trade center in New York City was involved in a devastating tragedy.

It started off with a group of terrorist (believed to be apart of Al-quieda) that highjacked four different planes across America. Flight 11 was the first to be highjacked and at 8:46 it crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center. Flight 175 was the second plane to be highjacked and crashed into the South Tower at 9:03. The third plane that was highjacked was flight 77 and crashed into the pentagon facility in Washington. The fourth and final plane to crash was flight 93, it went into an empty field in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, at 10:03 a.m.

The aftermath of this day is life changing. Pilots are now to lock themselves in the cockpit and allow no one in until they have reached their destination. Once President Obama was elected, 2 years into his presidency he was able to have Osama Bin Laden killed (The person behind the attacks), resulting in people partying and celebrating in the streets. Now there is a memorial ground left where the towers once stood. There are two fountains in the exact same shape of the buildings that collapsed. There is now a new tower being built in order to 'replace' the old ones. But it's also to show that we as people can move on and take a step forward from this tragic incident. There are still many people that have been 'missing' since the towers collapsed as their bodies have disintegrated in the rubble and crushed into nothing.
